How to Join DMTA
Becoming a member of the Delta Music Teachers Association (DMTA) connects you to a network of dedicated music educators at the local, state, and national levels. Membership is processed through the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), which automatically enrolls you in your state and district associations.
Membership Levels
Active Membership
For independent or institutional teachers currently engaged in the profession.
Includes full voting rights, eligibility for leadership roles, and access to all student and teacher programs.
Collegiate Membership
For full-time college students pursuing a degree in music.
Includes reduced dues and opportunities to participate in DMTA programs.
Patron/Supporting Membership
For individuals or businesses who support music education but are not actively teaching.
How to Join
1. Visit the MTNA Website
Go to https://www.mtna.org.
2. Select “Join” or “Renew”
Under Membership > Join/Renew, choose “Join MTNA.”
3. Choose Your State Association
For example, select Tennessee Music Teachers Association (TMTA) if you’re in Tennessee.
4. Select Your Local Affiliate
Choose [Your District Name] Music Teachers Association (DMTA) as your local chapter.
This ensures you’re connected to local events, meetings, and student opportunities.
5. Submit Dues Payment
You’ll pay a combined total for MTNA, state, and local dues in one simple transaction.
Annual Membership Period
Membership runs July 1 – June 30 each year.
New members joining mid-year will receive full benefits immediately.
$149 yearly dues, which covers membership in MTNA, TMTA, and DMTA
